Take me Back to Orlando #DosandDonts

Universal Studios

Fire breathing dragon at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Butter Beer

Make sure to eat a donut!!!!

City Walk

Our main reason to visit Orlando was to experience Universal Studios. We planned our whole trip around this theme park. We visited the theme park on a Monday which meant shorter lines and not as many kids. I am sure that during the summer visiting both parks is not possible. Both parks are huge and have so much to do. We were able to visit both parks in one day. Even though we visited both theme parks we were able to ride all the roller coasters. A night before, we planned our whole day because we wanted to make sure we covered as much as possible. We enjoyed our day and the weather was great (which made it even better).  Even though our trip was short, it was fun and sweet.

I know that many will be visiting Universal Studios in the next upcoming months. Below are my top 5 do's and don'ts.

Top 5 Do's and Don'ts at Universal Studios:

Do's
1. Visit The Wizarding World of Harry Potter first because the lines in this area are the longest
2. Make sure to try a giant pink donut at Lard Lad Donuts in the Simpson's area
3. Make sure to try butter beer (Don't use a straw)
4. Plan your day accordingly! You don't want to miss any of the parades/shows they have throughout the day.
5. Visit City Walk

Don'ts
1. Don't leave The Wizarding World of Harry Potter until you see the fire breathing dragon
2. Don't try to have dinner at City Walk without a reservation. If you decide to have lunch/dinner at City Walk make sure to arrive before you are hungry because lines can be long.
3. Unfortunately, when we visited the park many areas were under construction. Don't visit before you verify which areas are under construction. We were disappointed because we did not get to ride The Hulk.
4. Don't leave before riding every ride.
5. Don't arrive late to any of the parades because you will not find a good view.

Orlando Adventure #PerfectWeather

My first view of Orlando.

These black swans were all around Eola Lake.

View of downtown.

Thornton Park

Cocoa Beach

Getting away from the bipolar weather in Houston was great. I was lucky enough to sneak away to Orlando and do some exploring. The main goal was to visit Universal Studios, but that was later. We arrived Saturday afternoon, and as soon as I landed the weather was amazing. Since we arrived Saturday afternoon we decided to do a little touring around. We took a short helicopter ride around the city. This mini tour was probably the highlight of my trip since I was not expecting to do this. We were starving! We do not have a Johnny Rockets in Houston, so we decided to try it for the first time while we were in Orlando. I was definitely not disappointed! The shake and burger were the perfect combination.

On Sunday, we decided to explore the city! We visited the market at Eola Lake. There were so many goodies to try! While we were there we visited Thornton Park. Unfortunately, we did not eat at any of the restaurants because we had so much Junk food at the farmers market. The weather was amazing so we decided to rent a paddle boat.

Since the weather was so amazing, we decided to take a short drive to Cocoa Beach. This was the most relaxing part of our trip. We laid by the beach and we soaked the sun in. We were starving and decided to visited Coconuts on the Beach. Even though the bar was under construction the food was amazing. The coconut shrimp was by far the best I have ever tried.

Sunday night was interesting. We visited the ICE Bar, and they really mean ICE. The entire room was made of ice, even the cups we drank out of. This was a neat experience. We wore faux fur coats since the bar was freezing. The seats, walls, bar were both made out of ice.

The first day and a half was successful. We explored sooo much! We were sure the rest of our mini vacation would be just as amazing.

Feeling the Breeze in my Hair #OOTD

Houston has had an amazing weather lately! A couple of weeks ago a new shopping center in Houston opened up, River Oaks District. ROD has great places to take pictures and the weather was perfect. Great weather and a great background means we have to take pictures. My good friend, Shalanda from Live Life in Style, and I decided to meet up and take advantage of the opportunity. We explored, had coffee and gossiped, sounds like a good day?

Dallas Exploring Day Two #IsTheWeekendReallyOver

Sculpture Garden.

Brunch, the most important meal of the day!

OOTD!

Bishop Art District

My best friend, Alejandra and I having a laugh.

My creepy best friend completely photo bombed me.

At the sculpture garden.

Day two was too short in Dallas, did it really have to end? Honestly, this whole trip was too short. I had so much fun during this short adventure.  The next day we woke up starving. I had heard of the Bishop Arts District, and I wanted to visit. The area was so cute! :) There were restaurants, stores and many many many fall decorations. We had brunch at Tillman's Roadhouse, which was such a cute place, the staff was quick to attend to us as soon as we sat down. I knew that Eggs Benedict was the dish I wanted to try (since it's my favorite Brunch dish).

After brunch we explored the area. We found tons of boutiques with the most original things. I fell in love with the Bishop Arts District! The area was really cute, and the weather that day was amazing. Decorations for fall were already up. There was not one single corner that was not decorated. There were scarecrows, pumpkins and lots of hay.

Lastly, we visited the Nasher Sculpture Garden. We had seen pictures of this place and it looked amazing. I loved this place! The art in the gallery was different and the sculptures outside were incredible. Each piece was different and caught your attention.

This was an extremely short trip. Even though it was short I was happy because I got to spend it with my two best friends. I know that we have many more adventures to come!
